THEIR passion and commitment to empowering people saw Owen Dormehl and Tau Phalane, owners of the Dormehl and Phalane Property Group, receive a prestigious award recently.
The recognition came from Impumelelo Top Companies, which bestowed on the national property group a framed certificate of excellence. This, the certificate states, was in recognition of the Dormehl and Phalane Propery Group's commitment to transformation for the year 2017.
“I would like to thank my team and all our clients for the support,” Dormehl said, expressing pride in the award.
The Impumelelo Social Innovations Centre’s annual awards ceremony is one of the mechanisms that sees the organisation uncover what is good and what works in South Africa, it states on its website.
The intention is to mainstream social innovation throughout South Africa at every level of society, the website explains.
His partnership with Phalane came about, Dormehl said earlier, because both are passionate about empowerment.
“We are keen to ensure people of colour have opportunities in this industry, and to build bridges between different cultures. It is something we firmly believe in”.
Phalane points that he and Owen work well as a team because they understand each other and are both optimistic about the property market’s future in this country.
Phalane also praises Dormehl for wanting to bring more blacks into real estate and mentions projects in place, and still requiring funding, which should do just that.
“Owen is also great with training and mentoring. He loves people and sees good in all.”
